Note: All fees include Chris' travel time and fuel costs.

Chris travels within an eight mile radius of Farnham to give lessons.

Chris teaches students from age 5 upwards (see teaching policies under Resources).

Chris teaches Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 8.30pm and Saturday, 8am - 6pm.

Whether an absolute beginner or returning to the piano, Chris enjoys tailoring lessons to what the student wants out of them. Whether that be progressing through the grades with a view to serious musical study, exploring jazz and improvisation, composition, music theory, or just playing for the sheer fun of it (or any combination of these!), Chris can offer lessons to suit.

Chris encourages students to ask questions and think about and enjoy the musical aspects of their playing right from the start. He loves to introduce students to composers, styles and artists they've yet to discover and immerse themselves in the awsomeness that is music. But first and foremost Chris tries to make sure that students enjoy playing and progressing, stay inquisitive and develop their own style.

It is essential that students have an instrument to practice on between lessons. This can be an electronic keyboard for beginners, but a good quality acoustic or very good digital is recommended as students progress to and beyond an intermediate level.

Books and other study materials are important and Chris will make recommendations as to what the student should be working to. It is up to the student to purchase these either through Chris or independently.
